Oh man do I love the Asian market! I stopped in to get some red curry base for lemongrass chicken I was making last night. Every time I stop in for just one item I walk out having purchased a dozen or more things! Great mix of traditional Asian ingredients and snacks, sweets, and beverages. If you've never been here definitely stop by with an open mind. You're bound to find something to love
Lots of great products, actually it's quite large on the inside once you get in and walk around. They have many authentic options and prices are fairly reasonable.
Large Asian market centrally located in Peoria. Lots of Asian and Filipino items to try and to make fantastic recipes. Do remember to bring cash if you plan on spending under $10, though I always spend enough to use a debit card.
A great place to get most of your asian's ingredients and cravings without having to drive to Chicago. She stocks a wide selection of fresh exotic veggies and fruits. The Thursday fresh bakery pastries and desserts are a nice addition. The prices are reasonable and much higher for the same item at a standard grocery store.
We love shopping here. Huge variety of ramen, tea, and fish and specialty asian vegetables and produce unavailable elsewhere. Also carries local ready made food dishes and gifts. Worth checking out.
Produce selection is not as wide as previously but I still make this my place to go for mushroom variety and whole frozen fish, and squid. Wide variety of bulk rices.
Fun. Exciting grocery items! Today I bought a coconut milk drink. There’s a big produce section with exotic fruits, mushrooms, and vegetables. There’s hundreds of instant noodle dishes and rice meals. Absolutely worth a visit!!
I had a question about the price so I go ask the cashier, she explained, and I calculated it’s correct. Sounds like a good ending. But when I appreciated her help and said“ my apologies, the price is correct thx for your help”. She looked at me with a long face and frown eyes, said nothing but let me feel like “ what’s wrong with this weirdo?” Let me felt being discriminated . I’d rather drive 1 hour go to the Fresh Market in Champaign instead of waste time here, every time shopping here makes me feel that I’m begging to buy some Asian food from here.
There are so few Asian/Vietnamese represented markets in the city, but this one does come through. Yes it is Small. Yes there is little parking, but... YES there are a lot of items to choose from. Great place to get any items that you may be missing in order to help make that authentic meal back at home. There are also instant items as well as a large foray of imported drinks/snacks/cookies for you to choose from. The spices were quite decent and impressive that they have it in stock.
The only draw back since this is in the middle of IL is that there is a lack of fresh produce (veggies/fruits) as well as fresh fish/meats.
If you can understand the limitations of those items above, the rest of the supermarket is superb and its shelves are full for your choosing.
